ICH Senior Center will be housed inside the Island Community Center at 6246 Mumford Street on Chincoteague Island.  Although our initial phase of outreach within the community has been postponed until the governor gives us the "all clear" to resume social activities, we are still available to area seniors.

Currently we are inviting anyone in the northern limits of Accomack County and on the island within the category of "older Americans" that may benefit from delivery of a two-week supply of frozen meals to contact us.

Please comment here or send us a private message or contact the manager at 757-710-0739 by call or text, or by email at

Blessings for Seniors!
Let us know if you would like to receive frozen meals delivered to your home. Currently, as per federal guidelines, we are operating under relaxed requirements during the covid-19 pandemic, through the Eastern Shore Area Agency on the Aging. Through the generosity and vision of our local grant writer, our aim is to offer frozen meals to anyone considering themselves as "aging in place" in the senior community, so please notify us of your need if you are in a food shortage.  You can reach the manager at the cell number 757-710-0739 or by email at, during this social distancing effort.

The warmth of helping hearts is equal to the warmth in the earth around us. Don't go without sustenance in this season as blessings abound!

Tell us your story!

If you have an "amazing story" as a "Senior" (60 and above -- the population referenced as "aging in place") by the Older American Act, please contact us so we can have a chat as to the best way for us to receive information from you.

We'd love the chance to share your story with other seniors during this "excess of quiet time".  It may be selected for "story time" once the Island Community House can be opened back up for gathering together.

A selection in your "personal repertoire" about something you've accomplished or is funny, uplifting, or inspirational -- as well, a remembrance of an eventful happening on the Island or Eastern Shore would be well received.

#ChincoSeniors is a campaign suggested by my daughter to have fun and also promote awareness of the debuting ICH Senior Center (opening date not determined).

The suggestion is for interested parties to paint clam shells with this hash tag and place them around the island.  When someone finds them, they can post the hash tag to give more social media awareness for the senior center. If you have interest or suggestions, 757-710-0739 or by email at, during this social distancing effort.
