Brianna Jade Merritt is a forever 11-year-old girl who went to Heaven on October 7, 2019. Her goal in life was to spread kindness. She was a faithful servant of God throughout her 3 year battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. When her doctors ran out of options for her treatment, she decided to go home and have fun with her family and friends until it was time for her to go be with God in Heaven. Those were her words. She had no fear. She only had faith in God's plan for her life and now her family and friends are keeping her kindness challenge going in her memory!
Two years ago, in the hopes that it could be used someday for the good of the community, David Landsberger bought the local ballfield on Smith Street and donated it to the town with the understanding that it be turned into a park. Quite an incredible gesture!
What would this space be like? Not just a park, not just a playground, but an inclusive space that everyone can enjoy. A sensory park. A place that Brianna would really enjoy. Let's see what we can all accomplish together.
